One of our clients will have a project in the North Sea in Spring and they are going to need Back-Deck Mechanics.
Job description
Back-Deck Mechanic role entitles:- Ensure that all components of node handling / back deck department run efficiently.
- Ensure that routine and incidental seismic node handling / back deck maintenance requirements are met through expeditious use of recording time.
- Good communication skills to speak with all the departments on the vessel.
- Ensure all replacement supplies are ordered in a timely fashion. Exercise control over back deck requisitions to ensure that no excess inventory is built up.
- Monitor on board back deck inventory and report deficiencies.
Job requirements
To work as a Back-Deck Mechanic it is important to have knowledge of:
- Methods and Techniques of maintaining and repairing Back Deck equipment.
- Electrical codes
- Fundamentals of pipefitting and fabrication
- Programmable logic controls, telemetry units and fiber optics
- Metering and measuring devices related to electronics, hydraulics and pneumatics
- Back Deck shipping and receiving procedures.
